Luma Elpidio (born September 6, 1995) is a Brazilian Christian singer and songwriter.[1]
Biography
Since she was 13 years old, she started composing worship songs. In 2014, at the age of 18, she shared the song "Quem és pra mim" on YouTube, without any form of dissemination or marketing. To her surprise, the song reached churches and radio stations across Brazil.[2]
In 2012, Luma had joined the Faculty of Law at the Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro, but decided to leave the faculty to continue with her ministerial career.[3]
In February 2016, she released her second single, Liberta-me de Mim. Its reach was even wider than the first song, and then she released her first album. In July of the same year, with the same title, the album “Liberta-me de Mim” was released containing 13 songs, all copyrighted, one in English.
Since then, Luma has toured Brazil. In December 2017, she managed to release the single "Que Amor é Esse?", which surpassed 100 million views on YouTube, this being her most expressive song. Two years later she released her first EP, called "Tua Glória". It was recorded live on an island with a paradisiacal setting in Rio de Janeiro. It has five authorial songs. One of these songs has the special participation of the singer Fernandinho.[4][5]
The songs from this latest project are being released, one by one, in singles format. Both on YouTube and on all digital platforms, since November 2018. Luma has toured several countries in North America, Europe and Asia. Among the places where she has already performed are the United States, England, Ireland, France, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Israel and Japan.[6]
