Lunde (rock band)

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Lunde is an American alternative rock band based in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The band was formed in early 2018 by cousins Nathan (Nate) Uhrich and Jeremiah Lunde. While the namesake only technically belongs to Jeremiah, the two both feel a strong familial connection to the Lunde name. The band met its roots in the small town of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin where much of the Lunde family resides, including Janice Uhrich, mother of Nate Uhrich. While Jeremiah spent most of his childhood in Kenosha, he often visited his family in Beaver Dam. During these visits, he would sometimes run into Nate playing Beatles Rock Band (which is referenced in their secret album track currently only found on the vinyl edition of Living Strange). Nate and Jeremiah re-connected their musical passions in 2018 on a family trip outside of Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, and started playing soon after. Over the first two years, they recruited bassist Joshua Janiak, guitarists Kyle Gogan and Evan Steidtman, as well as many other casual collaborations. The band released its debut album, Living Strange in June of 2020 and has plans to release their follow up sometime into early 2021.

Lunde’s music has been inspired by a wide variety of artists and styles, from names like The Beatles, Oasis, and Bob Dylan, to alternative acts like Twin Peaks, Wilco, and Ryan Adams.

Living Strange[edit]

The band’s official bio describes the record - “The album chronicles the day-to-day life of frontman, Nate Uhrich and his many experiences navigating love and viewing reality from the outside”. Themes of love and heartbreak are somewhat of a staple of Nate Uhrich, with friends jokingly crowning the genre, “simp rock". The name comes from the a lyric in the Oasis song "champagne Supernova".

Halloween Blues[edit]

On October 29, 2020, Lunde released the single “Halloween Blues” as an independent release. The single was accompanied by a short film/ music video directed by Jeremiah Lunde, in collaboration with Chicago filmmaker,

Zack Gripko.
