Prabhanjay Chaturvedi (born 1 July 1969), Bhilai, [1]Chhattisgarh is an Indian Bhajan and Ghazal singer, composer, music director, and musician popularly referred to as Bhajan Samrat.
He is a disciple of Bhajan Samrat Padma Shri Anup Jalota[2] Ji. His initial Guru was his father, Late Pandit Maruti Sharan Chaturvedi. He has his name registered in [3]Guinness Book of World Records for continuous Bhajan singing for 31 hours and 45 minutes.
Early Life and Education
Prabhanjay was born in a middle-class family in Bhilai, steeped in a religious atmosphere. He started singing at the age of six by reciting Chaupais of Ramayan under the guidance of his father and music guru, Pt. Maruti Sharan Chaturvedi.
He completed his schooling from Bhilai. With a strong foothold in religion and devotion, he grew up listening to masters such as Shri Puroshottam Das Jalota, Shri Hariom Sharan, Shri Anup Jalota, and Shri Sharma Bandhu, thus developing an inclination towards singing Bhajans.
He received formal training in Classical Hindustani Music under Late Shri Raghunath Ramchandra Ghule (Gwalior Gharana) and imbibed a deep knowledge of music from Late Pt. Bimalendu Mukherjee. He trained in Light Music under Late Shri Bhagwan Prasad Sharma.
Career
He participated in numerous singing contests during his school and college days and emerged as a winner in all of them. He was the first artist from Chhattisgarh state to receive an A-Grade from Aakashvani, New Delhi, in 2000 for his musical creations that he is often seen presenting on Aakashvani and Doordarshan.
He featured in almost 50 episodes of Doordarshan's show *Subah Savere*. He was the 1st Runner-up in the Ghazal-based show *Aadab Arz Hai* hosted by Shri Pankaj Udhas Ji, which was telecasted on Sony TV. He was also the winner of *Geet Bahar* show telecast on ETC channel produced by T- Series.
His Bhajans are regularly broadcast on [4]Sanskar and Satsang Channel on television. His singing scaled new heights when he emerged as the winner of the prestigious Lata Mangeshkar Award at Mumbai in 1991.
He has shared the stage with Anup Jalota Ji, Pankaj Udhas Ji, Jagjit Singh Ji, Hariom Sharan Ji, Ahmed and Mohammed Hussain, Ravindra Jain Ji, and he has performed in various [5]sangeet samarohs. He has given more than a thousand performances in India and more than 50 performances outside India.

One of the highlights of his career was when his name featured in the Guinness Book of World Records in 2005 for a marathon Bhajan singing for 31 hours and 45 minutes.

Recently, another album titled *Do Phoolon ki Bheint*, consisting of 8 bhajans composed by Prabhanjay, was released by the famous music company of Mumbai, Red Ribbon Entertainment. This album received huge success and love, as two bhajans were sung by Prabhanjay's Guru, Shri Anup Jalota Ji, under his music direction, which is a remarkable feat for any student.
