Luwang Air is an Indian regional airline based at Imphal International Airport, Imphal.[2] [3] The airline obtained its air operator's certificate in February 2017 and began operations later in the month. As of March 2017, the airline has a fleet of one LET 410 Aircraft and operates to 8 cities in India. It also has a cargo service and is registered in Kolkata as Luwang Air Service and Cargo Pvt. Ltd. under the Companies Act, 2013.[4]
The company has a vision to explore & connect the entire Northeast region of India, for which the airline plans to acquire Cessna Caravan and LET 410 aircraft, both having a seating capacity of 13 passengers.[citation needed] In the near future, the company is planning to extend its service operation in a wide range, using bigger aircraft like the ATR 72 to connect different destinations in India.[5]
