Lydia Maria Makrides (born 2 February 2002) is a German actress.[1]

Life[edit]

Makrides gained her first performance experience between 2007 and 2009 in the children's choir of the Leipzig Opera theater performances followed at the Schauspiel Leipzig and the theater youth club #noname of the Schauspiel Leipzig. From 2015 she took further steps in her acting training followed in England, at the Gloucestershire Youth Theater Company (GYTC) and the Everyman Theater in Cheltenham. She took dance, piano, violin and singing lessons for several years, from 2017 she studied in London at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama at the University of London and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Lydia is fluent in German, Greek, English and studied French and Italian.[2][3]

Since 2011 she starred in German film and television productions, including the series SOKO Leipzig or Morden im Norden and television films such as Dimitrios Schulze or Neben der Spur ist auch ein Weg. She had a recurring supporting role in the Netflix series Dark. Lydia currently resides in Berlin.[2]
