Lynda Maria Stuart is a Jamaican physician-scientist and the President and Chief Executive Officer of Fund for Science and Technology (FFST). Before leading FFST, she was the Executive Director of the Institute for Protein Design at the University of Washington. She is best known for her leadership roles in immunology and global health.[1][2][3]

Education and Career

Stuart earned her Bachelor of Arts in Medical Science/Social and Political Science from Cambridge University and her MBBS from the University of London. She earned her PhD in immunology at the University of Edinburgh under the guidance of John Savill and Adam Lacy-Hulbert. She trained as a postdoctoral scholar with Alan Ezekowitz at Massachusetts General Hospital.[4][5]

After her postdoctoral training, Stuart was a faculty member of the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. From 2016 to 2022, Stuart was the Deputy Director at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and was involved with the development of Skycovione with the Institute for Protein Design. She was the Vice President of Infectious Disease at the mRNA company BioNTech.
