Lynn Richardson is an American financial expert, author, professional speaker, and television personality.
Personal Life[edit]
Richardson was raised on the Southwest Side of Chicago in the Leclaire Courts housing projects. She is an alumnus of Curie Metropolitan High School, Northwestern University, Loyola University Chicago, and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. She is married to Demietrius Richardson and she has three daughters.
Career[edit]
Richardson began her career as a financial aid counselor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1995 followed by Assistant Director of Financial Aid at Moraine Valley Community College in 1997. She then began serving as Assistant Vice President with American Home Mortgage in 2003 and as Vice President at JPMorgan Chase in 2008.[citation needed]
She has appeared as a guest speaker television shows The Steve Harvey Show,[1] Good Day L.A.,[2] and Let's Talk Live,[3] and radio shows The Tom Joyner Morning Show,[4] Get Up Mornings with Erica Campbell,[5] and The Al Rucker Show.[6] She has also appeared as a spokesperson on BET,[7] including Jackson Hewitt Tax Tips,[8] Cricket Wireless Money Saving Tips,[9][10] and Nationwide Big Tips for Small Business.[11][12] She also hosted the radio show Wealth 'n Real Estate on WVON-AM in Chicago.[13]
Philanthropy[edit]
In 2012, Richardson co-founded Hip Hop Sisters Foundation with MC Lyte. The foundation has awarded over $750,000 in college scholarships to young men and women.[14][15][16]
