M19 is an AI for Commerce company created in 2018:[1].
History
Created in 2018 in Paris (France) by Nicolas Beauchesne, Tarik Berrada Hmima, François Costa de Beauregard, Alix Moggia-Millet and Pascal Pons, M19 develops artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms for e-retail. This company is based on the merger of two startups, in November 2019[2][3]
- M19 (previously Magellan RMT), founded in November 2018 by Nicolas Beauchesne, François Costa de Beauregard, Alix Moggia-Millet.
- Adakazam[4], founded also in November 2018 by Tarik Berrada Hmima, Cédric Chanal, Cédric Jacquiot and Pascal Pons.
This move was instigated by two key investors of the project: Frank Le Ouay and Romain Niccoli (Criteo co-founders).
M19 is the contraction of "Magellan 1519"[5]. In 1519, Ferdinand de Magellan was the first explorer to start the "circumnavigation", meaning: travelling around the world, starting from Europe and reaching America as well as Asia within the same voyage. With this reference, M19 wants to offer their clients the opportunity to get access to new markets and to major e-retail platforms.
Products
M19 is a SaaS (Software as a Service), which develops algorithms of artificial intelligence for e-retail[6]. These algorithms, fed with commerce data, try to predict purchase probabilities and to automate sales decisions.
