M8l8th

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

M8l8th (Russian: М8Л8ТХ) is a NSBM band originally from Tver, Russia (later moved to Ukraine), formed in 2003 by singer and convicted neo-nazi frontman Alexei Levkin, who is the only constant member[1]. The band plays Black Metal with RAC influences and Levkin calls their style "Militant Black Metal". M8l8th under Levkin runs the neo-nazi network "MilitantZone" in Kiev, Ukraine[2][3] and the white power festival Asgardsrei festival.[4][5] M8l8th has strong ties to the white supremacist organization Wotan Jugend[6] with members of the Azov battalion[7][8].

Levkin also runs the side-project Adolfkult, an esoteric hitlerist Black Metal project[9][10]. M8l8th is working with French Black Metal group Peste Noire and has formed several political ties, Black Metal music businesses and projects.[11][12]

Band history, neo-nazism & criminal sentences[edit]

Alexey Levkin started M8l8th when he also was part of a small criminal neo-nazi group called "Tver RNE" by local Russian media.[13][6][14][15][16][7][1][17][18] He was convicted along with several other nazi skinheads for the group's series of violent crimes, including murders and assaults against individuals belonging to ethnic minorities, and of desecrating Jewish and muslim cemeteries. He was sentenced in 2006, in the city of Tver. While all other members of the group was sentenced to prison, Levkin was sentenced to psychiatric care until 2008 because of what the court saw as mental illness.[19][6][20][21][22][7][1][23][24] M8l8th and Levkin's diaries and speeches about nazi occultism and him worshipping Adolf Hitler "as a god" was part of the evidence in sending Levkin to a psychiatric asylum. While in psychiatric care he was also suspected of double homicide, charges that were dropped in 2008, the year he was set free and moved to Kiev. M8l8th formed strong ties to the network "Wotan Jugend" and the Azov battalion. Gaining infamy in the neo-nazi music scene and playing several concerts with M8l8th in Kiev, the band has since then become one of the biggest influences in the NSBM subculture and scene, by organizing both conferances, concerts, right wing activism and political music shops.[25][6][26][27][28][7][1][29][30] Levkin, after emigrating to Ukraine, has in Russia been wanted for questioning over "participation in a extremist community" and for "inciting hatred and enmity", crimes punishable with prison, by Russian courts.[31][6][32][33][34][7][1][35][36]

In 2013, M8l8th posted support for Norwegian massmurderer Anders Breivik and an advertisement for Breivik t-shirts.[37]
