Medical universities in Ukraine are included in “Catalogue of World’s Medical Universities” by the World Health Organization (WHO). Ukraine is a part of the Bologna process. Admission Process[edit]

The admission criteria may vary as per universities. The exams like TOEFL & IELTS are not mandatory to take an admission in Ukrainian medical universities. The process of MBBS admission in Ukraine is very simple. The process is not too much longer, just put a little bit efforts while filling the application form along with valid credentials.

The academic year starts from 1st of September to 27th January for the 1st semester. 2nd semester starts from 5th February to 30th June. Winter holidays are up to two weeks. Summer holidays are about to be two months. Before submitting the application form, it is necessary to apply for student visa in Ukrainian Embassy of the respective country. There is another factor which attracts the students to get admitted into university is affordable fees. Fees in Ukrainian universities varies from 3000 to 6000 USD (i.e. in between Rs. 2,00,000 to 4,00,000) per year. Near about 66,300 international students from 147 countries have taken admissions in Ukraine.

NEET Exams[edit]

To pursue a medical education, the national level medical entrance test is conducted by the National Testing Agency. After clearing the NEET entrance exam candidate will get eligible for applying for the MBBS course. It is obligatory to pass the NEET exam for a candidate. NEET results are served for allotment of state quota, management quota seats.

The candidate should have obtained MBBS degree from the recognized medical university. All of the fact that, the university should be MCI approved. The number of MBBS graduates undergo USMLE & PLAB exams for practicing in abroad. For practicing in India, the MCI screening test or FMGE exam is conducted by the Medical Council of India.

Unlike other exams, the test is a computer-based. Some institutes like AIIMS, JIPMER are conducting their own entrance exam to accommodate UG admissions in the institute.

Scholarships[edit]

Some private institutions offer the subsidized education for students who are not supposed to pay the academic fees with dues of financial background. Depending on academic curriculum or the performance of student after 1st year, the respective student will get the scholarships with norms certified by the university. Government universities do not provide any scholarships since they have low tuition fees.

The span of internships can vary as per Institutes/Colleges:

  • Medicine - a specialty of duration 1.5 months.
  • Pediatrics - a specialty of duration 1 month.
  • Gynecology and Obstetrics - a specialty of duration 1 month.
  • Casualty- duration 1 month

MBBS graduates can pursue a postgraduation in specialization subjects which they want to study. Postgraduation subjects are taught in English and Ukranian language. Students have an option to select the language of instruction as per their choice. If they want to study in the Ukrainian language or some other language apart from the English language then he/she need to undergo preparatory courses. Validation of the post-graduation course is about 2 or 3 years.
