MD Abu Bakkar (born December 30, 1999, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia) is a Bangladeshi entrepreneur, author, and tech influencer. He is best known as the Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of HostOrient, one of Bangladesh's leading BDIX-connected web hosting and cloud service providers, and as the Founder and Chairman of Extent Technologies Limited, a Bangladesh-based technology infrastructure company. He is also the co-author of two published entrepreneurship books and the host of the YouTube channel Chokkor with Bakkar. Abu Bakkar is married to Nagera Akther, who serves as Co-Founder and Managing Director of Extent Technologies Limited and Co-Founder and CFO of HostOrient.

Early Life

MD Abu Bakkar was born on December 30, 1999, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to a Bangladeshi family originally from Moulvibazar, Bangladesh. His family name is Babu. He grew up with an early interest in technology, particularly in web infrastructure and how the internet worked at a systems level. He completed his schooling at Rajnagar Ideal High School and later attended Imperial College Moulvibazar, both located in Moulvibazar, Bangladesh.

Abu Bakkar is fluent in English, Bengali, Arabic, and Italian.

Career

Early Ventures (2014–2018)

Abu Bakkar began his entrepreneurial journey in 2014, initially working in social media services and website development. In 2015, he built his first website and began developing skills in server administration, Linux system management, and web hosting infrastructure. Between 2017 and 2019, he served as Managing Director of Skarbol.Tech, a Dhaka-based technology company, where he led the management and marketing department.

From 2019 to 2021, he worked with Hosterline IT Solution, gaining extensive experience in web hosting operations and cloud server management. In 2021, he co-founded Hosttier, a web hosting company based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where he played a role in shaping the company's vision and service delivery. He also served as Information Technology Manager at Si Traders Worldwide in Malaysia from February 2021 to August 2023.

Extent Technologies Limited (2016–Present)

On August 17, 2016, MD Abu Bakkar co-founded Extent Technologies Limited alongside Nagera Akther in Moulvibazar, Bangladesh. He serves as the company's Founder and Chairman. Extent Technologies Limited is a member of the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) and is registered with the Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC). The company provides IT infrastructure, software development, networking, cloud solutions, and data center services across Bangladesh and beyond.

Extent Technologies Limited is the parent company of HostOrient and operates as a comprehensive digital solutions group serving businesses of all sizes. The company is RJSC registered and holds a Digital Business Identification (DBID) certification.

HostOrient (2019–Present)

On September 21, 2019, MD Abu Bakkar founded HostOrient as a specialized hosting brand under Extent Technologies Limited. He serves as Founder and CEO of the company. HostOrient is co-founded by Nagera Akther, who serves as Co-Founder and CFO.

HostOrient operates as one of Bangladesh's most recognized BDIX-connected web hosting and cloud service providers, offering shared hosting, turbo hosting, reseller hosting, virtual private servers (VPS), dedicated servers, colocation, and business email services. The company is headquartered in Moulvibazar, Bangladesh, and serves thousands of businesses and developers domestically and internationally.
