ME by Meliá
ME by Meliá is a hotel brand of Meliá Hotels International. ME was launched in 2006 with the ME Madrid. Meliá stated that ME was to be "a business hotel with fun; a little like the W Hotels".[1]
In 2007 the ME opened in Cancún, Mexico. In 2008 the ME Barcelona opened in a 29-story high-rise, previously the site of the Habitat Sky hotel.[2]
In 2012 a location opened in London, a Foster and Partners-designed property in the Strand on a site that was previously a 1960s office development and, before that, the Gaiety Theatre. The ONE Group, an American restaurant and hospitality company, made plans to open locations of its STK and Cucina Asselina restaurants in the hotel.[3] Other locations are in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and a 220-metre (720 ft), 60-floor tower in Vienna's Donau City.[4][5]
In 2014 a 369-room ME is to open in La Défense, Paris.[6]
In 2017 the ME Miami officially began operations in Brickell, Miami, Florida.[7]
