TUI Blue, stylised as TUI BLUE, is a German-owned hotel chain founded by the TUI Group in 2016. The company's business is focused on the holiday hotel sector and many of its establishments offer an all-inclusive service.

History[edit]

The hotel chain was launched in 2016 by the TUI Group in order to create it's own branded flagship hotel brand. In May 2016 the chain opened its first two hotels, both of which were located in Turkey; TUI BLUE Sarigerme Park in Sarigerme and TUI BLUE Palm Garden in Manavgat.[1] Two further hotels, located in Schladming, Austria, and Fleesensee, in Germany, opened later in the same year[2] and the hotel chain expanded rapidly with additional properties in Portugal, Tunisia, Croatia, Mallorca and Turkey soon after in 2017.[3] Still primarily catering for the European market, the chain opened its first hotel in a long haul destination in 2018, with the opening of TUI BLUE Bahari in Zanzibar, Tanzania, with further expansion into the Caribbean, Southeast Asia and the Indian Ocean planned to position itself as the leading and biggest leisure hotel brand in the world.[4]

In 2019 parent company the TUI Group announced its plans to drop two of their key hotel brands, TUI FAMILY LIFE and TUI SENSIMAR, in order to merge them into the TUI BLUE hotel chain, expanding the hotel portfolio to 100 hotels by 2020.[5] With this fast-tracked expansion, the hotel chain launched three products to differentiate its range for its target groups; adult-only hotels were branded as TUI BLUE For Two, family-orientated hotels were branded as TUI BLUE For Families, and mid-range hotels as TUI BLUE For All.[6] In 2021, TUI Group further streamlined its hotel brand portfolio by merging TUI SENSATORI with TUI BLUE to create the Sensatori by TUI BLUE brand.
