MODELSWARD
MODELSWARD[1] (the International Conference on Model-Driven Engineering and Software Development) is, since 2013, a world-class platform for the research community as well as students and practitioners to present their research results and development activities in the areas of model-driven engineering for Software Development. This represents an important direction for the future of software engineering, aiming at increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the Software development profession. Standards are an important tool for consolidating the area, with a special mention to Model-Driven Architecture (MDA) sponsored by the Object Management Group (OMG), which also promotes the Meta-Object Facility (MOF) and transformation specification languages like QVT and ATL. However, there are still many opportunities for developing practical methodologies, technologies and even software tools that enhance this research field. The dream of automatically producing software from models is mostly still unfulfilled, constituting a challenging for the software modeling research community.
