Established since 2018, the MUSE Design Awards is an awards competition presented to creative professionals for creativity and ingenuity in the design field [2]. The MUSE Awards is created by the International Awards Associate as an extension to the MUSE Creative Awards.

History[edit]

The MUSE Design Awards was created in 2018 after the executives and creative professionals in the International Awards Associate wanted to support alternative creative mediums, and the creative agencies or individuals behind the ideas.[3] [4]

The awards competition is an accompaniment to the MUSE Creative Awards, and shares the same female figurine for its awards to reflect the muse inside all the participating entrants.

MUSE Design Awards statuette[edit]

The MUSE Design Awards statuette changes every year by the designers in the International Awards Associate to reflect the change in societal trends and current fashion.

The latest instalment of the statuette features a lamp shaped crown adorned on the model, which symbolises creativity and wisdom in the creative professionals. As a sister award to the MUSE Creative Awards, both awards competitions shares the same design and look until the next season.

Categories[edit]

The general categories of the MUSE Design Awards are as follows:[5]

  • Architectural Design
  • Interior Design
  • Fashion Design
  • Transportation Design
  • Product Design
  • Packaging Design
  • Lighting Design
  • Conceptual Design
  • Landscape Design

In both the Architectural Design and Interior Design categories, Kris Lin International Design won a total of 26 awards in the competition across two seasons, making it the highest winning design agency in the MUSE Design Awards.[6]

Distinctions and selection of winners[edit]

The competition is split into four different distinctions: Platinum, Gold, Silver and Rose Gold. The scores are tabulated through blind judging by the jury panel. After the tabulations are complete, the scores will be announced and the winners may opt to purchase the MUSE Design Awards statuette.

The competition awards the same distinction to all their entrants and gives equal opportunity for all agencies and companies. By May 2020, there are 980 entries being awarded to entrants from countries all around the world, including design agencies, interior design firms and digital firms. Companies like MOTI [7], M Studios [8] and Steyr Konzept Vittoria [9] are being awarded the distinction for their innovations in their respective industry.

Jury[edit]

The jury panel is made out of creative professionals in various fields of creativity across different nationalities. The jury panel is also responsible for ensuring impartiality in the adjudication process.[10] The panel is currently comprised of 12 esteemed creative professionals.
