MV Henry Ford II was a bulk freighter that was part of the Ford Motor Company fleet of ore carriers which transported raw materials to Ford's River Rouge Plant. She was named after Henry Ford's grandson, Henry Ford II.

The Henry Ford II was constructed by the American Shipbuilding Company at their Lorain, Ohio, shipyard, for the Ford Motor Company. Henry Ford II one of two “state of the art” freighters that were ordered specially by Henry Ford, the other one being her nearly identical sister ship, the Benson Ford, being constructed by Great Lakes Engineering Works at Ecorse, Michigan.[1]
