Mahmoud Labadi (1940 - 2014) is a Palestinian politician who was born in Haifa. After 1948, he moved to Jenin with his family where he finished his studies. He finished his Bachelors in Economics, in Germany. And then he moved to Bonn and Leipzig, where he earned a Masters Degree in 1973.

He was elected president of the General Union of Palestinian Students as a confederation of Germany and Austria. He was elected Secretary-General of the Fatah movement, then Secretary of the Region in 1971. In the same year, he met for the first time with leader Yasser Arafat and the fighter Majid Abu Sharar and Muhammad Abu Muzeer. He joined the Palestine Liberation Organization in Beirut in 1973. He worked in the Foreign Relations Office of the Fatah movement in 1974. He held the position of assistant to Palestinian President Yasser Arafat from 1975-1983 and was the media spokesperson for the Palestine Liberation Organization.

He worked as editor-in-chief of the Palestine newspaper affiliated with the PLO, which was published every two weeks in English and French for eight years in Beirut. He served as the official spokesman for the Palestinian National Council between 1977-1982. After the PLO left Beirut in 1982, he moved to Greece via the President's ship for a short period, then worked with the organization's office in Tunisia for one year.

He left political work and devoted himself to journalism, writing and media between the years (1984-1995). He was appointed to the position of Director General of the Palestinian Legislative Council, then as a consultant and official for foreign media in the International Relations Commission of the Fatah movement since 1999.

He died in the city of Jenin, in his hometown, Al-Yamoun, on 03-10-2014, and was buried there.

He contributed to the translation of the book “The Federal Republic of Germany, Israel and the Palestinians: A Case Study in Foreign Policy.” It was published in German in 1973.
