Maaran is a Upcoming Indian Tamil-language action thriller film written and directed by Karthick Naren and produced by Senthil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan ^[1] of Sathya Jyothi Films.^[2] The film stars Dhanush and Malavika Mohanan, while Smruthi Venkat,^[3] Samuthirakani^[4] and Mahendran^[5] portray supporting roles. The film features music composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, with VivekAnand Santhosham^[6] and Prasanna GK^[7] handled the cinematography and editing respectively.

This film is the first collaboration of Dhanush and filmmaker Karthick Naren, who rose to fame with his debut film Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru.^[8]

Maaran is scripted by Sharfu and Suhas,^[9]^[10] who are among the brightest Malayalam screenwriters duo is known for writing nail-biting thrillers like Varathan^[11] and one of India’s best medical thrillers, Virus.^[12]

Maaran is touted to be a thriller drama, It is believed that Dhanush and Malavika are both playing journalists in this film, which is said to be an investigative thriller, looks like Master Mahendran will be playing a character with a negative shade.^[13]
