Biography

Italian artist Maddalena Bouchard was born in 1772.[1] to the publisher and bookseller Giovanni Bouchard,[2] and thought to have died in 1793[3]. She was an Italian ornithological[4] and botanical[5] illustrator, although much of her work focused on birds[6]. It is believed Bouchard lived and worked in Rome, with some of her most notable work being displayed in Bornelli's Hortus Romanus, an eight-volume set of botanical art[7]
