Magical Reels Productions is an Indian music record label and production house established by rapper Moksha Amman in 2016. Based in Mumbai, it mainly produces documentaries, docudramas, travel shows, songs & music videos.

History

Magical Reels Productions was founded in 2016 by Moksha Amman, an Indian rapper, lyricist, actor, editor, and record producer in the Indian film industry. The company's debut production was Bharat ka Vikas, a documentary series on India. Subsequently, the company ventured into producing Biographies of Legends, a mini-series focusing on great leaders of India, and Trouvaille - The Travel Show, a short travel series exploring India, a land known for its ancient civilization and spirituality.

2016-present

In 2016–2017, Magical Reels Productions produced Bharat Ka Vikas, a mini-documentary series focusing on social and national development in India. The series featured episodes including Swachh Soch, based on the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan; Save Girls, based on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao; and Youth Quake, focusing on the Skill India initiative. The Youth Quake documentary was taught as part of educational programmes at more than 243 schools and online institutions during the COVID-19 lockdown period.

In 2017, Biographies of Legends was produced as a documentary series exploring the lives and contributions of notable figures who played a role in India's social, cultural, and national development.

In 2018, Magical Reels Productions released their first song titled "Gym Wali Bandi," a dance track in the Hip-Hop/Rap and Electropop genre.

From 2019 to 2020, Magical Reels Productions produced Trouvaille – The Travel Show, a travel series exploring India's cultural and historical heritage. The series featured different regions and communities, highlighting their cultures, fashion, lifestyles, traditions, and local cuisines.

Following that, in December 2022, they released "Dil Tod Ke," a heartbreaking and emotional song. According to the artist, the song is based on his real-life incidents.

In March 2023, they released Le Gayi, a romantic Hindi/Urdu track capturing the joy, excitement, and essence of falling in love.

In 2024, Magical Reels Productions released Phone Uthale Baby, is a Pop-Hip-Hop-Trap fusion that tells the futuristic story of an astronaut journeying back to Earth to reconnect with his love.

Also released in 2024, Ram Ram Ram, Magical Reels Productions’ fifth release, fuses Trap, Devotional, Reggae, and Experimental music, depicting a devotee’s spiritual journey to Lord Shri Ram.

In August 2026, Magical Reels Productions released Hone Do (Let It Be), Moksha Amman's sixth song, a soulful pop-fusion composition. Its music video marked the company's first AI-assisted filmmaking project, featuring Moksha Amman's digital clone, Moksha Amman - AI.

Artificial Intelligence Ventures

Since 2026, Magical Reels Productions has expanded into AI-assisted filmmaking, becoming one of the independent production companies experimenting with original AI-generated performers, digital humans, and virtual storytelling. Rather than using artificial intelligence solely for visual effects, the company has focused on developing recurring AI characters with detailed fictional biographies, personalities, and continuity across multiple productions.

The initiative began with the creation of Moksha Amman - AI (internal designation V-AA1), an artificial intelligence model and digital clone of Indian musician Moksha Amman. Developed on 3 July 2026, the model was designed for AI-assisted filmmaking, music videos, and digital performances. It made its first public appearance in the music video Hone Do, becoming the first AI-generated principal performer produced by Magical Reels Productions.

Following the development of Moksha Amman - AI, the studio announced a broader initiative to build an interconnected fictional universe featuring original AI-generated characters. The first of these was Skyra Bextile, a fictional AI model created by Moksha Amman. Within the character's narrative, Skyra is portrayed as a 20-year-old European gamer and grocery store cashier born on 27 May 3077 in Del Santo, Nova Eurienta. The story depicts her as becoming trapped in the year 2024 after escaping aerospace scientists by stealing a teleportation device capable of opening wormholes. Living in hiding, she survives in abandoned buildings while evading those attempting to recapture her. The character is also known by the alias Time Travel Girl (TTG).

Magical Reels Productions has stated that its AI productions combine AI-generated imagery, voice synthesis, digital performance generation, and cinematic post-production to create consistent virtual characters capable of appearing across multiple films and music videos. The company describes these characters as fictional digital performers rather than replacements for human actors.

Future projects

Magical Reels Productions has announced plans to continue expanding its AI character universe through future music videos, short films, and long-form cinematic projects. Several AI-generated characters are currently in development, including Project-K, Project-R, and Project-Z.

Project-Z is described as a second digital clone of Moksha Amman. Although visually based on the same individual, it is intended to exist as a separate fictional character with an independent backstory and narrative continuity from Moksha Amman - AI.

The studio has indicated that future productions will feature interactions between multiple AI-generated performers, including Moksha Amman - AI, Skyra Bextile, Project-K, Project-R, and Project-Z, as part of a shared fictional universe developed by Magical Reels Productions.

Legal Issues

Egyptian Music Rights Case

In March 2023, Moksha Amman's song Le Gayi was unexpectedly hit with a copyright claim from the Egyptian distribution company The Basement Records. For several days, the dispute remained unresolved despite repeated attempts to clear it. While investigating the issue, Magical Reels Productions discovered that the beat had previously been licensed to Egyptian rapper El Joker by the same producer. The company contacted El Joker directly, who then coordinated with his distributor. The claim was subsequently withdrawn, but Le Gayi remains unavailable on several social media and music platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
