He began his career with appearances in Indian television series in 2012 and made his debut as a rapper in 2018. He is the founder of Magical Reels Productions, a Mumbai-based record label and production house.
Early life and family
Amman was born in Delhi to a Brahmin family. He brought up in East Delhi, neighbourhood of Delhi.
He received his school education from Shaheed Mangal Pandey, Vivek Vihar, Delhi. Amman was a National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadet during his school days. He graduated with a Bachelor of Tourism Studies from IGNOU and also studied multimedia from the Asian Academy of Film & Television during his graduation.
Amman began his journey in theatre during 10th grade and went on to study acting at the National School of Drama, specializing in Theatre-in-Education Company (T.I.E) also known as "Sanskaar Rang Toli." In the following years, he had the opportunity to work closely with NSD's esteemed professors, directors, and successful alumni, honing his skills and knowledge in the field of theatre.
Acting & Direction
Amman worked in numerous plays and social awareness nukkad nataks in Delhi before moving to Mumbai in December 2011. He appeared in UNICEF's malnutrition television commercial alongside Aamir Khan[1] and also appeared in TV serials like Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya, The Buddy Project, and Chidiya Ghar.[2]
He directed, edited and produced various documentaries, travel shows, and music videos under his own banner, Magical Reels Productions, and also acted in them. Amman also performed at the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games held in 2010 at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi, India.
While working as an actor, Amman explored other opportunities and worked as an assistant director, drawing upon his previous education. Juggling both roles, he pursued his passion for acting while gaining experience in the field of direction.
Music Career
Initially, he entered the music industry as "Jordan Khalifa," but eventually adopted the name "Moksha Amman" during his career. According to the artist, he no longer felt a connection with the former identity.
Furthermore, in 2014, Amman's creativity and other undisclosed aspects, which were not revealed by the artist, led him to start writing songs. Four years later, in 2018, he proudly unveiled his debut track, Gym Wali Bandi (Gym Chick).
Continuing his musical journey, he released a soul-stirring song, Dil Tod Ke (Breaking Heart), which is said to have been deeply influenced by the life of the rapper.
After Dil Tod Ke (Breaking Heart), he ventured into crafting the enchanting song Le Gayi (Took Away), a melodious exploration of the theme of love. Song eloquently captures love's euphoria, passion, and multifaceted emotions, celebrating the blissful journey of falling in love.
In his fourth release, Phone Uthale Baby, Moksha Amman blends Pop, Hip-Hop/Rap, and Trap, crafting a futuristic soundscape. The song follows an astronaut lost in space, struggling with no signal, as he embarks on a journey back to Earth to reconnect with his love.
Ram Ram Ram, Moksha Amman’s fifth release, fuses Trap, Devotional, Reggae, and Experimental music, creating a hypnotic soundscape. The song follows a devotee’s mystical journey through meditation, transcending time and space to behold Lord Shri Ram.
