Magshimey Herut

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

World Magshimey Herut (Hebrew: מגשימי חרות עולמי‎, lit. 'achievers of liberty'), is an international Zionist movement for young adults that offers assistance to new immigrants and potential olim.[1]

History[edit]

Magshimey Herut was founded in 1999 based on the ideals of aliyah, social justice and the Land of Israel. The headquarters of the movement are located in Israel. Today the movement has active members in 11 countries.[2] The movement is affiliated with the World Zionist Organization, the Jewish Agency for Israel and the Jewish National Fund.[3] The organizational branch in the United States is Herut North America.[4]

The Executive Director of World Magshimey Herut is Karma Feinstein-Cohen, one of the movement's founders.[5] In 1999, after Benny Begin left the Likud party, Feinstein-Cohen and other Jabotinsky movement veterans established World Herut and its youth movement, Magshimey Herut as a "reborn Jabotinsky movement for Zionist education and pro-Israel activism."[6]

In 2020, Magshimey Herut UK recorded a 6-minute long video circulated on social media featuring the voices of “young unapologetic Zionists” to challenge the claim that most British Jewish students oppose the policies of the Israeli government.[7]

By talking to potential immigrants and explaining why they themselves love Israel, Magshimey Herut volunteers help others reach a decision about moving there.[8]
