Mahmudul Hasan Azhari also known as Shaykh Mahmudul Hasan (Bengali: শায়খ মাহমুদুল হাসান) is a UK based Bangladeshi Muslim scholar.[1][2][3][4][5] He is the Imam and Principal of Essex Jamme Masjid in Southend-on-Sea, London[6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13] and Director of TV One UK.[14][1][13]
Early life and education
Mahmudul Hasan was born in Mirsharai Upazila and raised up in Chittagong. He finished his Dawraye Hadith from Befaqul Madarishil Arabia Bangladesh. He holds B.A. & M.A. from the Department of Arabic and Islamic studies in Chittagong University. He also received a bachelor's degree from the Faculty of Islamic Theology from the Al-Azhar University, Egypt.[15][1][5]
Career
Mahmudul Hasan started his career as a teacher at Al Jamia Al Islamia Patiya. On December 5th, 2000, he joined the Department of Quranic Sciences and Studies of International Islamic University, Chittagong. Later, he became a lecturer in the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies at the University of Chittagong on August 1, 2004. He moved to London in 2005 and still works there.[15][1][5]
