Early life
His early education was in Quranic School in 1932–36 and then elementary school Bida in 1939, then he moved to intermediate school, currently now Government College Lemu, where he obtained his intermediate school certificate in 1948. He later attended the School of Shari'a Law, currently now School of Arabic Studies Lemu, where he obtained Middle School Certificate in 1950 and the High School Certificate in 1952, then Teacher Certificate Level Two in Arabic Language, Islamic Studies and Shari'a Jurisdiction and General Education. In 1954 he attended London University, at the UK, The School of African and Oriental Studies. He obtained the certificate of General Education Advanced Level in History, Arabic, Hausa and Persian Languages in 1961, then a Bachelor's Degree in African and Oriental Studies in 1964. Dr. Lemu served almost entirely in the education sector. He was firstly a teacher of Arabic language, English language and Islamic studies at Government Secondary School Bida from 1953–60. And later promoted as senior teacher of Arabic Language and Islamic Studies Education, also supervisor at the School of Arabic Studies Kano,[2] Also he served as Director of the school and Deputy Director of Government Secondary Education in 1965, Dean of Arabic Teachers College in 1966, Senior Inspector of Education in 1970 Chief Inspector Education of Sokoto State in North Nigeria from 1971–73. Technical Director 1974–75, Director of Educational Planning 1975–76 in Niger State.
In 2009, he was appointed Consultant at Fountain University of Osogbo, Nigeria. Also playing a major role in teaching education, Dr. Lemu also was a Judiciary official, first Shari'a judge at the Court of Appeals in Sokoto, Niger 1976–77 as Chief Shari'a Judge at the Court of Appeals in Niger State, 1976–1991 [3]
