Maine VegFest

Maine VegFest is an annual vegetarian food festival held in Portland, Maine and hosted by the nonprofit Maine Animal Coalition.

History[edit]

The festival was first held in 2005 and was originally called the Maine Vegetarian Food Festival.[1] The event features all vegan food. Between 2009 and 2018, the event was held at the East End Community School.[2][3][4] In 2019, the festival moved to the Italian Heritage Center.[5] Past keynote speakers have included Gene Baur,[6] Chirs McClay,[7] Colin McCollough, Lauren Ornelas, Victoria Moran,[8] Toni Fiore,[9] Avery Yale Kamila, Alex Shopov,[10][11] Dan Argo, and Meg Wolff.[12]
