Majid AlShamsi
Majid Hamad Rahama Al Shamsi (Arabic: ماجد حمد رحمه الشامسي) is an Emirati business personality with executive experience in high-level roles and capacities across several organisations in the UAE.
Mr Al Shamsi is an appointed member[1] of the Federal National Council of the UAE, a legislative body that represents the general Emarati people.
He is the chairman[2] of UNION COOP, a Consumer Cooperative in the Emirate of Dubai which operates a local supermarket chain.
He is also the 1st Vice Chairman[3] of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, a non-profit organisation that supports businesses in Dubai.
Mr. Al Shamsi is also the Chairman of University of Dubai’s Board of Trustees[4][5], and the Managing Director of Hamad Rahma Abdulla Al Shamsi General Trading[6].
Additionally, He was appointed[7] in 2015 to the board of directors[8] of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA).
Previously, Mr Al Shamsi was a member of Dubai Economic Council, representing the private sector[9], until 2017, when the council was dissolved[10] and merged into Dubai Economy Department.
