Maksim Sonin (born May 1986) is a thought leader in the energy industry. He is known for his work on humanitarian and global sustainability concerns.[1][2]
Education
Maksim holds an MS in Management from Stanford Graduate School of Business as a Sloan Fellow, a PhD in Engineering from Scientific Research Institute of Natural Gases and Gas Technologies, and an MS in Finance.[3][4] He is a member of Stanford University Hydrogen Initiative[5].
Career
Maksim Sonin has held executive roles and served on the Boards of UCC, Silleno, KMG Petrochem, and other organizations focusing on humanitarian and global energy concerns.[2] He has also worked with Chevron, Shell, and ExxonMobil at consortium venture, and collaborated with other notable firms.[6][7][8]
Maksim is a regular speaker at various energy-related international events including World Hydrogen by S&P Global,[9] Reuters, the Ammonia Symposium by Stanford, Global Clean Hydrogen,[10] and other prominent global venues.[11][12] He is also frequently cited in leading publications and outlets, including Nikkei Business Publications,[1] Power[13] etc.[14][15]
Professional recognition
He is a Fellow at the Energy Institute (FEI) [16], Hydrogen Projects Fellow at Stanford University.[6][17][5][6][18] and received the High Flyers 50 Global Icon Awards[19]
