Malam Al-Bishak is a Nigerian academic, author, and social activist. He is a Professor of African Studies at the Federal University of Lafia (FULAFIA) in Nasarawa State, Nigeria. He is also a veteran journalist and poet.

Early life and education

Al-Bishak was born on January 25, 1960 in Zaria, Kaduna State, Nigeria. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1982. He then earned his Master of Arts degree in African Literature from the University of Ibadan in 1986 and his PhD in African Literature from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 1997.

Academic career

Al-Bishak has held teaching positions at several universities in Nigeria, including Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nasarawa State University, Keffi, and FULAFIA. He is a specialist in African literature and has published extensively on the subject. He is also a gifted poet and has published several collections of poems.
