The Manthalir Trilogy is a series of Malayalam novels written by the award-winning Indian author Benyamin. The trilogy explores the socio-political, religious, and cultural evolutions of the fictional village of Manthalir, told across different eras and through the lives of several interconnected families, with the essence of satire.

The first novel in the trilogy, Akkaporinte Irupath Nasrani Varshangal (2008), narrates twenty pivotal years in the history of the Nasrani (Syrian Christian) community of Kerala. It was followed by Manthalirile 20 Communist Varshangal (2017), which chronicles two decades of communist movements and ideological conflicts in Manthalir.

The third installment, Manthalirile 20 Pravasa Varshangal, is not yet published. It will explore twenty years of migration history and the Gulf boom, and how global migration reshapes Manthalir and its families.

The trilogy is widely regarded as one of Benyamin’s most ambitious literary projects, offering a panoramic narrative of Kerala’s evolving social identity across religion, politics, and migration.
