Manusa is a Spanish company which is focused on the design, manufacture, installation and maintenance of automatic pedestrian doors.[1][2] The company's offices are located in Sant Cugat del Vallés (Barcelona), and in Polinyá (Catalonia), where the sales department, the technical department and the maintenance department are located. The production plant is located in Valls (Tarragona).
History[edit]
Founded in 1966 by José María Guilera Nubiola, Manusa started its activity with the manufacture of manual overhead cranes. A few years later, superior technology began to be developed, with different models and patents.[3]
In 1971, Manusa extended its activity to the manufacture of automatic doors with pneumatic technology and the first models were incorporated into the Spanish market, which led to an increase in its growth and allowed Manusa Group to buy other companies in the sector.
That same year, the company decided to expand its borders and began to distribute its products internationally. During that period, in addition to manufacturing automatic doors, Manusa specialised in the design of projects and the after-sales service of its products.
In March 2010, Ernest Benach, who at that time was the President of the Parliament of Catalonia, visited the company's facilities.
Some outstanding projects in which he has participated are the Kremlin Palace in Moscow, the Dubai metro or the BRT in Islamabad (Pakistan).
International[edit]
The company is present in more than 90 countries [4] and has its own offices in Spain, Brazil, Portugal and China.
