marXact
marXact is a Dutch manufacturer of Survey-Grade GNSS receivers for use in surveying and geographical measurement, also known as geomatics.
History
marXact was officially founded in 2017 by Raoul van Ginkel and Tommy van der Heijden.[1][2] Initially, before founding, marXact was a side-project intended to make the construction of optical fiber more efficient. Later, the direction changed and marXact started to develop and manufacture their own GNSS receiver, with manufacturing handled locally in the Netherlands.
The company is based in Hilversum, the Netherlands.
Name
The name 'marXact' is composed from the designed purpose of its product range: marks your exact position.
Technology and products
Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers provide autonomous geo-spatial positioning and let the GNSS receivers determine their location (longitude, latitude and altitude/elevation) within a few centimeters. Currently supported by the global navigation satellite systems GPS, Glonass, and progressively Galileo, BeiDou and QZSS. The UNI-GR1 receiver supports all these constellations on L1, as well as L2 and L5 frequencies[3].
marXact's main product is the UNI-GR1 RTK GNSS receiver, or UNI-GR1 in short. The GNSS receiver is a hardware component in a spherical shape. The UNI-GR1 (UNIversal Gnss Receiver) is used worldwide. The UNI-GR1 is interchangeable as a standalone RTK Rover and a base station.
The UNI-GR1 is controlled with the help of survey software, named UNI-Connect.[4]
All data is stored online in the UNI-Cloud, a cloud storage.[5]
With the UNI-Cloud, the UNI-GR1 GNSS receiver can be integrated into non-marXact software and databases as well.
marXact partners with an RTK network consisting of over 2,000 base stations worldwide.
