Marc Bernstein (born January 19, 1961) is a saxophone and bass clarinetist, composer, producer, and educator. He is leader of the jazz department at The National Academy of Music (Syddansk Musikkonservatorium) in Denmark.[1]
Biography
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Bernstein studied saxophone with George Garzone and Jimmy Mosher at Berklee College of Music. After college, Bernstein started his career in the band of jazz drummer Chico Hamilton, giving performances at Lincoln Center, the Apollo Theater, and the JVC Jazz Festival[2]. Bernstein has performed with Tom Harrell[3], Branford Marsalis[4], Billy Hart, Bob Moses, Hal Galper, Billy Cobham, David Kikoski, and Richie Beirach. [5]
Bernstein is also a jazz educator and leader of the jazz department at Syddansk Musikkonservatorium (National Academy of Music) in Denmark.
His students include Sinne Eeg[6], Henrik Gunde, and Maria Faust[7].
He has also performed with Marc Ducret[8], Jacob Anderskov[9], Anders Trentemøller, Lars Janson, Alex Riel, Carsten Dahl, Mads Vinding, and Stefan Pasborg[10].
