Marc Matsumoto is a Japanese-American chef, author, blogger, and YouTuber, and the founder of the food blog, No Recipes.[1][2] Matsumoto has made appearances in NPR, Food Network, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and writes on PBS Food[3][4]

Life[edit]

Matsumoto was born in Kadogawa in Higashiusuki District, Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan, in 1977.[5][6] He was raised and travelled around the countries of Australia and The United States of America, but currently resides in Japan.[7][5][8]. Before his career as a chef, Matsumoto worked at Netflix in Silicon Valley, when it was still at its infancy.[5]

Culinary career And television[edit]

Alongside Maki Ogowa, Matsumoto is the host of BENTO EXPO, of NHK World.[9] He is the founder of No Recipes, a food blog and YouTube Channel.[1] Alongside NHK World, Matsumoto writes for the Fresh Tastes food blog of PBS.org.[10][3] He also works as a private chef.[11] Matsumoto is the author of the cookbook Ultimate Bento: Healthy, Delicious and Affordable: 85 Mix-and-Match Bento Box Recipes.[12] He was a recipient of the 2011 Foodbuzz Blog Awards,[13] and has appeared in Chopped, Booze Traveller, and Ocean Treks with Jeff Corwin.
