Marc Ringel is an American physician and scientist best known for his research in the fields of Family Medicine.He is a family doctor who specializes in family medicine and mind-body related issues.[1]

Early Life and Education[edit]

Born and raised in Chicago, Ringel attended college in New Orleans and Madrid for studying family medicine. He moved to Yuma, Colorado, where he started practicing rural family medicine. In 1970, Ringel completed his bachelors in Philosophy from Tulane University, New Orleans. He then enrolled in University of Illinois, Chicago, to study mind-body related issues.[2][3] In 1978, Ringel got his board certification from the American Board of Family Medicine and begun his family medicine practice in the year 1979.

Career[edit]

Ringel began his career in 1976, Yuma, Colorado, where he worked as a physician at the National Health Service Corps.[4] From the years 1980 to 1985, Ringel began his solo practice of family medicine. In 1981 to 1982, Ringel stayed as a medical director at the Ripon office of Planned Parenthood of Fond du lac.[3][5] Ringel worked as an associate director at the North Colorado Family Medicine Residency Training Program from October 1985 to January 1995.

Ringel became the medical director at the Colorado Personalized Education Program for Physicians (CPEP) to develop learning programs for doctors.[6][7] Marc Ringel also worked at KUNC public radio as a commentator in Colorado for sixteen years. In addition, he authored several health-related columns for different Colorado’s newspapers.

Personal Life[edit]

In June 2018, Marc Ringel retired from his career practice in family medicine. Currently, Ringel resides in Greeley, Colorado, where he spends most of his time writing and speaking about family medicine, information technology in healthcare, community-based research and rural healthcare.
