Marcelo Antonio Torres Tapia[1][2] (Quinta Normal, June 4, 1972) is a Chilean public official.
Career
In February 2025, he was appointed Executive Director of the Los Álamos Local Public Education Service (SLEP) through Chile's Senior Public Management System. The appointment was made during the administration of President Gabriel Boric.[3][4][5]
Between 2014 and 2018, he served as Regional Director of the Superintendency of Education in the Maule Region. He was appointed to the position during the second administration of President Michelle Bachelet.[6]
He also served as Head of the Provincial Education Department at the Regional Ministerial Secretariat of Education and as principal of Antonio Varas High School.
