Wife Swap controversy[edit]

Marcelo and His Family were featured on Wife Swap The Ramos' and the Griffiths [5] and made headlines when stuntman acrobat Marcelo allowed his TV 'partner' classroom assistant Julie Griffiths to sleep in their marital bed.[6] Acrobat and keep fit instructor Anita Ramos was furious[7] because she’d discussed sleeping arrangements with her husband Marcelo who had promised Anita that Julie would sleep in the spare room. Anita assumed that her husband Marcelo was sleeping in the bed with Julie Griffiths. Anita moved in with Julie's salesman husband David, 42, in Worcester while Julie went to Anita's home in Sheffield. Anita, who regularly performs in acrobatic shows with her husband, found out that Julie had been in her bed after seeing a preview of the programme and identifying the room she was sleeping in. A Wife Swap source insisted that Marcelo didn't sleep alongside Julie but went to bed every night in a separate room.

Britain's Got Talent[edit]

Marcelo auditioned for both Series 1, and Series 2 of Britain's Got Talent under his artistic name Marcelo the Daredevil.

Series 1[edit]

Marcelo performed a somersault over four girls, he also somersaulted over a barrier of knives and dislocated his neck. He advanced through to the second round, however, did not reach the semi-finals.[8]

Series 2[edit]

He returned for Series 2 of Britain's Got Talent alongside his ex-wife and other family members. The stunts that Marcelo performed on the stage include performing a backwards somersault over a car. Marcelo got through to the second round. Once again, he did not reach the semi-finals. [9]
