Marciano Curiel Merchán

Marciano Curiel Merchán (born 1892 Garganta la Olla, Spain; died 1947 Trujillo, Spain) was a Spanish folklorist and teacher.

Curiel Merchán was a collector of books on folklore and compiled popular tales.[1] In 1944, Curiel Merchán published Cuentos extremeños (Extremadura stories), a collection of 144 popular tales that he had, mostly, collected during the years he worked as a teacher Tejada, Madroñera, and Trujillo.[2] The book was reprinted in 1987.[3] He also wrote several shorter articles on the folk traditions of Extremadura and Madroñera.[4]
