Mariat Nasasira is a Ugandan radio and television personality. She co-hosts the breakfast show, Morning Saga, on Galaxy FM 100.2 from 6am–10am and hosts the Country Lounge show on Sunday from 10am–1pm. She is also the programs director at the Kansanga-based radio station.[1][2][3][4]

She joined the media as a writer for a university newspaper, The University Post, which she left to join The Observer newspaper in Kampala.[1][5][5] She had a brief stint at the now-defunct The Razor newspaper[1] before embarking on a career in broadcasting with Urban Television,[2] a member of the New Vision Group, until December 2014.[1][6] Nasasira formerly co-hosted Skizzy, a daily entertainment show alongside Danze Mosha and Sheila Sempebwa on Urban TV.

Early life and education

Nasasira was born in 1987 in Ntungamo District to Hajji Sulaiman Rwabuteture and Hajjat Mariam Nagasha Rwabuteture.[1] As a child, she loved reading novels.[1] She attended Kinyasano Girls High school, Rukungiri for her O Level and Mariam High school, in Kampala for her A Level. She later joined Kyambogo University where she studied English and literature.[1]
