Mario Fantini was an Italian painter born in Firenze, Italy, who lived and worked in Florence, Italy.[2][3]

Fantini spent his early life in Florence. After graduating, he worked for Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena and during the Second World War in Africa as a genius. He surrendered to the British and, upon returning to the Italian peninsula after liberation, worked with American and British forces. After the war, he moved to Milan and had several successful work experiences. Returning to Florence, he collaborated with leading fashion stores like Gucci and created some of the house stores’ interiors as a refined craftsman and inventor. Mario Fantini was a great craftsman and extraordinary painter; in 1969, the journal American Holyday NY Magazine published an article by Arnold Newman featuring him among the architects of the New Italian Renaissance,[4] alongside Emilio Pucci, Gianni Fantoni, Aldo Londi, the Gucci brothers, and Ferragamo. He appeared among the six masters of fashion, art, and fine craftsmanship. In 1975, he opened a workshop that operated in parallel with creations in the lighting industry and developed innovative techniques in the field of art, creating paintings, sculptures, drawings, and engravings that had their roots in informal expression.[5] His artistic work continued until the end of his life, in 2013.[6]
