Mark A. Schneider is a Plattsburgh, NY-based civil rights attorney known for representing injured people, workers, immigrants and other victims of injustice.[1][2][3][4][5]

Schneider graduated from Boston College Law School in 1981.[5]

Attorney career[edit]

Since 1996, Schneider has been practicing law in Plattsburgh.[6] He has defended the rights of the poor, disabled, and others who have suffered injustice in one way or another. He rendered free legal assistance to low income clients for many years.[7][8][9][10]

Schneider represented Central American refugees in political asylum cases for several years in Harlingen, Texas.[11] He featured on the MacNeil-Lehrer Report, All Things Considered, and was also featured in The New York Times.[12] He has won and settled injury claims running into the millions of dollars.[13][14][15]

Schneider was the managing attorney of the Texas Rural Legal Aid office in El Paso, Texas from 1990 to 1994.[11] In 2000, he lectured on Labor law for the Cornell School of Labor and Industrial Relations at Clinton Community College. He has been on the Board of Directors of the North Country Food Coop.[11]

Schneider had a private law firm in Plattsburgh but later teamed up with Attorney Drew Palcsik to establish Schneider & Palcsik Law Firm located in Plattsburgh, NY.[1][16] He heads the firm’s Social Security, SSI Disability Appeals, and Civil Rights department.[5]
