Mark Dyne

Mark Dyne is chairman and CEO of Europlay Capital Advisors, a merchant banking and advisory firm.[1] He has also served as CEO of Sega Gaming Technologies and Sega Ozisoft Pty Ltd., and CEO and chairman of Virgin Interactive.[2] He is an investor in Skype and a member of its board. Dyne is a member of the board of Atomico.[3]

Career[edit]

He was one of the first investors in Skype, the internet communications outfit now owned by Microsoft, and he served on Skype's original board.[4] Dyne was a member of the original board of Skype together with Janus Friis and Niklas Zennstrom until it was sold to eBay for over $2.6 billion, and subsequently led the negotiations for Joltid to become a major shareholder of Skype in its acquisition from eBay in November 2009 and re-joined the board of directors. He was the longest-serving board member of Skype, serving from its start to the end sale when Skype was sold to Microsoft in 2011 for $8.5 billion.

He is a member of the board of directors of Synthean, and is chairman of Tag-It Pacific, Inc. In January 2000, MCV called him "The Deal Maker" and published his Ten Rules of Negotiating.

Mark Dyne was a founder and director of Packard Bell NEC Australia, a manufacturer and distributor of personal computers through the Australian mass merchant channel.[1]
