From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Mark Franklin is an English radio disc jockey and television presenter, best known for co-presenting the BBC television music show Top of the Pops during the early 1990s.

Early life and career

Franklin began his broadcasting career at the age of 14 on BBC Wiltshire, where he was featured on a local youth programme. His early exposure to broadcasting led to a full-time role in local and regional radio.[1]

Television career

In October 1991, Franklin became a co-presenter of Top of the Pops alongside Tony Dortie, as part of a relaunch of the show under new producer Stanley Appel.[2] Franklin hosted both solo and co-presented editions of the programme through to January 1994. His time on the show coincided with a major shift in its presentation style and target audience.[3]

Radio career

Following his time on television, Franklin continued to work in commercial radio, presenting shows across stations in South Wales and the West of England. He has worked with Sam FM Bristol and other regional broadcasters.[4]

In September 2021, he joined Greatest Hits Radio South Wales, presenting the Sunday breakfast show from 6 am to 10 am.[4]
