Mark J. Smith

Mark J. Smith is an Australian political analyst and the founder of Statesman Institute, a network of Australian government and political experts launched in December 2016.[1]

Smith represented Statesman Institute at the APEC meeting that was held from 13-17 June, 2016 in Tacna, Peru. [2]

Smith was involved in the promotion of a rare suit made by Ede & Ravenscroft and worn by political figure Egerton Batchelor to attend the 1911 Coronation of King George V at Westminster Abbey.[3] Batchelor served as Australia’s fifth Foreign Minister in the government of Andrew Fisher.

Smith is the grandson of Percy Smith who was the first Priest-in-Charge of Alice Springs for the Anglican Church and the first Archdeacon of the Northern Territory, Australia, founder of St John's Hostel in Alice Springs and later the founder of St Francis House in the Adelaide suburb of Semaphore South at Glanville Hall.[4]
