Markhor is a brand of handcrafted men shoes and accessories founded in 2012. The company is headquartered in San Francisco, California along with a team in Lahore, Pakistan[1]. [2]

The company was founded in 2012 and was originally known as Hometown.[3][4] The company first began shipping products in 2012 to customers in US and Pakistan.[5][6]
In September 2014, the company re-launched as Markhor through a Kickstarter campaign to sell shoes outside the US and Pakistan.[7] The campaign proved successful and raised $107,286.[8][9] The company participated in Y Combinator startup incubation program in summer 2015, and has been funded by Y Combinator, 500 Startups, and others.[10]
