Marly (Almir Leka) (born 21 January 1997 in Elbasan, Albania), known professionally as Marly, is a popular Albanian singer-songwriter of the hip hop and reggae genre.[1]

Marly made his music debut[2] in 2013, initially by singing and playing guitar in live events. Later on, alongside to his rapper colleague Sant, he co-founded the well known hip hop duo Sant & Marly.[3]

Career[edit]

Marly rose to spotlight immediately after signing his first record deal with Gmaj7 Productions directed by Gent Myftaraj, where he under the Sant & Marly logo, released songs like Ne Yo, Dalim, Holà, and D.M.P.L.[4] He also collaborated with the famous Albanian singer-songwriter Devis Xherahu releasing two consecutive music videos Me Pelqen Ajo and Per ty Mbarova.[5] During his collaboration with the former label he had been constantly writing lyrics and songs for other singers.

Marly is an active guest in Albanian media as well. He frequently appears in the show Top Show Magazine, since 2016, Top Select (Pop Culture), since 2015, where he reveals every side of the music industry in Albania and ways for young talents to improve. His songs have also entered national music charts by being listed in Top Channel - Top Awards.[6][7]

The latest music video released by Marly in January, 2020 is Casa de Papel, a collaboration with Sant, as a homage for the tv series under the same name.[8]

Personal life[edit]

Marly actually resides in Tuscany where he is currently proceeding his academic career. He was raised in the city of Elbasan where he finished high school at Kostandin Kristoforidhi High school. Later he moved in Tirana where he followed his music career.
