Jo Almaas Marstein (born 2002), known by the stage name Marstein, is a Norwegian rapper and singer. A member of the hip hop collective Undergrunn, he started releasing music as a solo artist in 2022. His studio albums Medici Marstein (2022) and Script error: The function "langx" does not exist. (2024) have both topped the albums chart in Norway. His song "Frida Kahlo" from the former and "Script error: The function "langx" does not exist." (with Annika) from the latter both reached number-one on the singles chart in Norway. "Script error: The function "langx" does not exist." also reached number one in Denmark.
The son of Norwegian authors Bjørn Esben Almaas and Trude Marstein, Marstein refers to himself as a nepo baby.[1]
