Tina Muhvić (/ˈtiːnə məwɪʧ/; born July 25 2000) is an artist basing her creations in digital and traditional art, greatly focusing on recycling materials, using them to sew up new wearable pieces, coming up with pattern and print ideas, whilst also being the lead singer of the duo TWEYES with her fiancée Roby M. Beki.
Early Life[edit]
Martina Muhvić was born on July 25 2000, in Pakrac, Croatia. Until October 2019, she lived with her family, of which she is the second child, right after her older brother in 1992. From an early age she was interested in art art, especially drawing. She'd draw every single day on unimportant papers her mother brought home from her job. Martina expressed a great interest in drawing animals, usually horses and mystical creatures the likes of unicorns, mermaids, and dragons. She showcased her real passion to her family. Being a prodigy she only went to kindergarten for two months, because she suffered from the stale and hostile environment created by the teachers there. Due to her shyness she had difficulties befriending other kids and would often end up playing by herself as her early childhood teachers deliberately didn't care. Instead of going to kindergarten her parents sent her to a local library where she would spent a few hours a day reading encyclopedias and various children's books perfectly. At home her father often played the synthesizer, while she was sitting next to him and watching him play the keys.
At seven years old she started attending majorette dance classes finally finding a comfortable place with a nice crowd of dear friends. They went on a lot of competitions across the county so she saw a lot of cities and a lot of costume designs worn by the other dancers. At eight years old in 2008, she started attending music school that she was supposed to start attending the year before but on the audition she faked that she couldn't sing because she didn't want to go, being afraid of the professionalism coming with learning sheet music and becoming a professional singer. When she realized her parents disappointment she promised them to go to the audition again the year to come. She decided to enroll in piano lessons since her father already taught her how to play a lot of the tunes he'd regularly play. She had no problems with learning the piano, but music theory bored her to great lengths, cause she felt like it was overwhelming to go to music school for 90 minutes and come home to practice 45 minutes to an hour. A lack of motivation from her parents led to her dismissal of music as a life direction. She was so afraid of her parents comments that she only played the piano with her headphones plugged in. Every concert was feeling like a dread and none of the positive feedback or praises made her feel more confident. At 12 years old in 2012, she started going to her school's choir. Finally finding a place to feel cozy and let out her voice within a group of trusty people. At this stage in her young life Martina started listening to her favourite bands full blast, learning to sing their songs by heart.
Education[edit]
In 2015, she wanted to enroll in the School of Applied Arts, Zagreb, but despite her being accepted, she decided to stay home, eventually enrolling in her local high school. After graduation in 2019, she tried to enroll in the Academy of Applied Arts, Zagreb. Resulting in a rejection. Without many other choices, she decided to enroll in the Faculty of Textile Technology, Zagreb. In 2022, she completed the university undergraduate study program in textile and fashion design, course textile design, earning the academic title of university bachelor of textile and fashion design. She didn't want to continue her schooling to get a master's degree. She moved home to develop her artistic skills and work as a freelance digital/traditional artist. In 2023, she enrolled in an online course for pedagogical-phycological-didactic and methodical training over the course of two semesters in order to be able to work as a substitute teacher per need. In 2024, she took a voucher to study digital marketing and branding to expand her knowledge of being an independent artist and designer in the modern world.
Personal Life[edit]
In the late night hours of June the 14th 2016, Martina received a life-changing message through her Facebook Messenger app. She didn't recognize the name of its sender, yet she still decided to answer it. The message wrote: "Hey", and it was sent by a fifteen year old Roby M. Beki. After talking for a while into the night and understanding each other on a very deep emotional level they decided to meet up the next day. They immediately fell in love at first sight and spent the whole afternoon together walking around her little hometown. They decided to make their relationship official before parting on the same day.
