Marvet Britto is an award winning American public relations professional, film and theater producer. She is the President and CEO of The Britto Agency[1], a PR and Brand Strategy firm.
With a career spanning two decades, Britto's extensive list of clientele includes Universal Pictures, Motorola, Microsoft, Payless Shoe Source, and Martell Cognac, actresses Angela Bassett, Vivica A. Fox, and Kim Cattrall, actors such as Hill Harper and comedian Mike Epps. She shaped and executed the blueprint leading Mariah Carey to one of the biggest comebacks in music with her 2005 album 'The Emancipation of Mimi' project, and also aided the careers of rap icons Salt n Pepa, Eve, and Foxy Brown. Sports clients have included basketball players such as Stephon Marbury and Jermaine O'Neal[2], All-Star outfielder Gary Sheffield and retired All Pro running back Curtis Martin.
The Britto Agency oversees Global Brand Strategy and Public Relations for the Island of Anguilla [3]. The Agency helped Anguilla further solidify its reputation as a world-class luxury travel destination when it arranged for the island to host the prestigious World Travel Awards, a milestone first in the island’s history. The awards ceremony was held at the CuisinArt Resort and Spa and was hosted by award-winning actress Vivica A. Fox. [4] The firm also conceived the concept for the island's musical talents to be promoted globally by securing a recording contract with renowned music pioneer Kedar Massenburg for the production and distribution of the "Sounds of Anguilla (Volume 1)" CD compilation. The production marked the first compilation ever to feature artists from a single Caribbean island encompassing multiple musical genres. Britto also conceived the idea of promoting the island’s celebrated culinary community via the "We Are Anguilla CookBook," for which she also arranged a publication deal. The book celebrates Anguilla’s well-known food culture and highlights recipes from the island's culinary masters.
In 2015, she was honored at the National Action Network's Women In Power awards luncheon for her role in advancing the cause of women. [5]. Britto later received the ColorComm Circle Award, the highest honor given to women changing the face of the communications industry, at the Second Annual Color Comm convention held in Key Biscayne, Florida. [6]
In the film arena, Britto served as Co-Executive Producer of the acclaimed dramas 'The Woodsman'[7] and 'Shadowboxer,'[8] alongside the film adaptation of the legendary Off-Broadway musical 'Mama I Want To Sing.' [9]
In theater, Britto has served as associate producer the Broadway plays 'A Trip to Bountiful'[10] and 'Romeo and Juliet.'[11]
She is often called upon as a subject matter expert and appeared in various media outlets including CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, The New York Times[12], Newsweek, New York Daily News, New York Post, and The Los Angeles Times [13].
