Emanuel K. Miranda (Montevideo, November 18, 1990) is a Uruguayan film producer and director based in France. He is mainly known for having produced the TV series Cook with the Book, winner of numerous international film awards. In the film industry he has also worked as a cameraman, editor and screenwriter.[1][2][3][4][5][6]
Life and career[edit]
He showed an early interest in acting and film, studied dramatic arts with filmmakers such as Beatriz Flores Silva and Walter Tournier, and took a degree in social communication at the Catholic University of Uruguay. He began his career directing commercials and producing various advertising projects. In 2013 he directed the documentary Almar, a short film that was selected at multiple international festivals.[7][8][9]
In 2019, he made his first documentary television series, Cook with the book, which was the winner of the film promotion funds of the Uruguayan National Film and Audiovisual Institute, and premiered on Televisión Nacional Uruguay and TV Ciudad in the same year. The series was declared of cultural interest by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Uruguay, participated in the 2018 Cannes Film Festival and won several international awards.[10][11][12][13]
