Maryam Eivazi (Persian: مریم عیوضی) is an Iranian artist best known for her Abstract paintings.[1] Her works present the artist's search, aimed at externalizing her intuitions, is revealed through the filter of visual representation. Maryam Eivazi's works evoke a dreamlike universe that emerges through recognizable colors and shapes, signs that can be traced back to the natural world that appear, on the whole, abstract.[2] [3]
Background[edit]
Eivazi was born in 1980 in Zanjan, Iran.[4] Her knowledge of the art of painting goes back to the time when she first saw a small black and white image that was printed on a newspaper.[5] It was one of the works of Willem de Kooning entitled "Woman III". That time she was only 14 and she knew nothing of Willem de Kooning, but it was as if the image spoke to her, of something beyond her perception, something spiritual and of the upper world and it was a feeling she had never experienced before. This was the starting point of her passion for painting.[6][7] She studied Bachelor of Arts in Painting at Art and Architecture University in Tehran, Iran at 2008 and pursuing a Masters degree in Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, Italy at 2018.[8]

The universes of Maryam Eivazi come from her experience, from which personal experiences emerge unconsciously.[9] [10] These graphic compositions lend themselves to any individual interpretation, starting from commonly recognized primordial forms, each sign becoming a subjective reference for the observer.[11] [12][13]
